In 1993, the Center opened the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles to worldwide acclaim. The Museum has served as the Center's flagship educational arm, challenging visitors to confront bigotry and racism, and to understand the Holocaust in both historical and contemporary contexts. In addition, the Center developed Moriah Media to produce theatrical documentaries to educate global audiences. Moriah has produced 17 documentaries to date, two of which have received the Academy Award for best feature documentary, The Long Way Home and Genocide.

About the position:

The Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance seek a proactive, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Education. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the Education department and plays a key part in advancing the EVP's educational initiatives, programs, and strategic goals.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support:
  • Manage the EVP's calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate internal and external appointments.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
Communication:
  • Draft and proofread emails, memos, and official communications.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the EVP and internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
Project Coordination:
  • Assist with planning and executing educational programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Support project timelines, deliverables, and budget tracking.
Travel & Logistics:
  • Coordinate all aspects of domestic and international travel for the EVP and team, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and itineraries.
Meetings & Event Support:
  • Organize and prepare for meetings and events; develop agendas, take notes, and follow up on action items.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
  • Maintain departmental records, databases, and filing systems.
  • Assist in preparing reports and tracking performance metrics.
Departmental Administrative Support:
  • Provide administrative support to the broader Education team.
  • Assist with scheduling, communications, document preparation, and departmental logistics.
Office Operations:
  • Ensure the Education office is well-stocked and operating efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other departments for shared resources and operational needs.
Qualifications and Skills

Required:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an administrative support role
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and digital scheduling platforms
  • Experience coordinating complex calendars, meetings, and travel logistics
  • Professional discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems independently, and remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Preferred:
  • Experience in nonprofit, educational, or cultural institutions
  • Familiarity with museums, Holocaust education, or human rights-related organizations
