Apprenticeship-Certified Arborist & Urban Tree Climber (NW DC)

An apprentice will learn to perform the following:
- Climbing and working in trees.
- Tree Planting.
- Pruning trees of all sizes for health and aesthetics.
- Removing trees and stump grinding.
- Treatment of stressed trees (fertilization, root zone aeration, etc).
- Survey/Inventory of trees on lots under development.

We are looking for career-oriented individuals who want to become a Certified Arborist and Urban Tree Climber. Earn great money with increased experience, and gain rare skills that guarantee a lifetime of solid earning potential anywhere in the US or abroad. This is a 3-year study program combining both on-the-job and formal training, with an option for continued employment and increased opportunities.

Previous education and experience is not required, we are more interested in hiring the right type of individual. We look for people who possess a high level of interest and enthusiasm for this work.

We offer a flexible work schedule design for vacation or personal business.

Apprentices are required to work toward their International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certification. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) may require up to 3 years of work experience before one is eligible to take the certification exam.

Applicants must have a valid driver's license. Driving/learning to drive a truck and trailer in the city is a requirement. Most jobs are within DC, some are in bordering counties of Maryland and Virginia.

Must have a neat appearance and be personable with clients.

Must pass a basic background check.
