Tri-City Group is seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanic to join our team in Davenport, IA. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of construction equipment and machinery.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
  • Support experienced mechanics in diagnosing mechanical issues and developing repair solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work completed on equipment.
  • Clean and organize the workshop and equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Learn to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance mechanical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Class A CDL - Preferred. Ability to obtain CDL Class A within 2 months of employment is required.
  • Demonstrated interest in mechanics and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects as required.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of mechanical theory, systems, and tools is a plus.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices, communication skills, positive initiative and judgment, the ability to troubleshoot, problem-solving, meet deadlines, self-motivation, business acumen, and be organized.
