Summary:
Surge Staffing is seeking two highly professional Armed Security Officers to join our team at our corporate headquarters. The Security Officer will report directly to the Security Operations Coordinator and perform routine tasks related to security operations, customer service, and incident response .
This role requires individuals who are attentive, reliable, capable of maintaining situational awareness , and physically able to perform routine patrols and respond to emergencies . The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented , and preferably have prior military experience .
The Armed Security Officer will work collaboratively with the Security Operations Coordinator to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all Surge Staffing employees and visitors.
Primary Functions:
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure all areas are secure and properly locked.
Monitor surveillance systems and respond to suspicious activity or security breaches.
Provide a professional and welcoming presence at entry points, greeting employees, visitors, and vendors.
Support reception-related duties such as visitor check-in and communication via email/phone.
Enforce company policies regarding access control and visitor management.
Escort contractors and vendors throughout the facility, as needed.
Respond to and document incidents; compile detailed reports for the Security Operations Coordinator.
Assist with emergency procedures including evacuations, lockdowns, and medical emergencies.
Maintain a calm, composed, and professional demeanor in high-stress situations.
Multitask and adapt to a variety of duties and challenges throughout the workday.
Perform any additional tasks needed to support company operations and security.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid armed security license in the state of Ohio (required).
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military , or a related field is strongly preferred .
Additional security-related certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid) are a plus or must be willing to obtain.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain composed and make informed decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations.
Capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods ; able to lift/carry items as needed.
Proficient in using computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), email, and incident reporting tools.
High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
