Asset Protection Associate - Freehold Raceway Mall JCPenney is seeking an Asset Protection Associate to support loss prevention and store safety at the Freehold Raceway Mall. The role involves monitoring surveillance activity, interviewing suspects, maintaining evidence records, and collaborating with internal investigations to protect merchandise and store customers. Responsibilities Supports Shrinkage and Safety Awareness programs and communicates current topics to Store Management. Conducts surveillance to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and reports infractions to AP Management. Detains and interviews customers and contractors suspected of theft and collects investigative intelligence. Maintains records using approved company methods and preserves evidence. Attends court hearings, updates files, and coordinates with local law enforcement. Identifies and corrects potential hazards, conducts incident investigations, and completes reports. Collects evidence for internal investigations and serves as an interview witness as directed. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Requires strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work a full‑time schedule and respond to shift needs.
