Job Description
The Assistant Fleet Services Manager will play an integral role in hiring, training, and ongoing development of Fleet Services technicians. Focusing on compliance with all federal, state and company standards as well as maintaining a safe work environment, monitoring technician efficiency, productivity, and Company KPIs.
Schedule : Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm with after hours and weekend requirements
Location: Ephrata, PA (onsite)
What you get to do as an Assistant Fleet Maintenance Manager - Learn all aspects of shop functions, including fleet road service program, managing company car services, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Assist manager to ensure completion of daily operational requirements and coordinate the department responsibilities in the manager's absence.
- Review/audit work orders on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of information entered by Vehicle Maintenance Associates.
- Control parts inventory, warranty repairs, and labor cost to ensure budgetary goals and efficiencies are met.
- Lead efforts to ensure complete and timely repairs and services, while meeting safety and regulatory requirements, of the Sunrise Transport, Inc. fleet of vehicles and Outside Customer repairs.
- Utilize systems and data to develop and implement processes and procedures that drive continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate record keeping of vehicles, equipment, repairs, and services within the Fleet Service asset system (TMT)
- Assist in meeting or exceeding vehicle maintenance budget goals.
- Stay current with new technologies, tools and techniques related to vehicle maintenance.
- Coach technician on keeping a clean work area, using proper safety equipment and tools to keep all associates safe and injury free.
- Maintain a 99% PM Currency.
- Set a consistent example for others in management effectiveness, leadership style, communication, and integrity. Lead by example, model Core Values and set a positive standard for performance to be followed by fleet service staff
What you bring - Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalency
- Ideally, 10 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or knowledge equivalency
- Ideally, previous management experience in a similar work environment/industry
- Electronic diagnostic systems experience
- Working knowledge of refrigeration systems
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Vehicle Maintenance Software, Dashboard systems, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, effectively plan and make sound decisions
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
- Class 7 State Inspection Certification
- Commercial Driver's License preferred
- EPA 608 & 609 certifications
