Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with leading telecommunications company, is seeking a skilled Back-End Developer to join their growing team and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performing applications. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in TypeScript, AWS, and database management, with strong experience in API development and shipping robust solutions to production. They value team players with excellent communication skills who are eager to learn, adapt, and collaborate in an Agile environment. This role is 4 days onsite, with one remote day of your choosing. It is a 12 month contract with potential of extension.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• Proven expertise in API design and development , with a track record of building and shipping production-ready solutions.
• Proficiency in TypeScript for backend development.
• Experience with AWS Cloud services for building and deploying scalable applications.
• Strong knowledge of database management and optimization.
• Hands-on experience creating scalable systems capable of handling high loads.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms (preferred but not required).
• Exposure to Python (nice to have).
• Agile methodologies experience, working in team-based environments with shared practices and goals.
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to share knowledge.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performing backend systems using TypeScript and AWS .
• Design, build, and optimize APIs to support seamless integration and efficient data flow.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure the reliability and maintainability of code.
• Monitor and track system performance under high loads, identifying areas for scalability and optimization.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative development cycles.
• Adapt quickly to new challenges, demonstrating a continuous learning mindset.
• Share insights and mentor team members to foster a collaborative development culture.

Team Structure

• Work as part of a cross-functional team of 4-5 members , including designers, backend developers, and frontend developers.
• Contribute to a collaborative environment without a dedicated testing team, where testing is integrated into the development process.
