Overview Principal responsibilities for a basketball coach who plans and conducts training sessions for children aged 5 to 13. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging and dynamic basketball drills and exercises to improve players' skills. Teach the fundamentals of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Coach players on proper techniques, including footwork, hand-eye coordination, and body positioning. Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help players improve and develop a positive mindset. Organize and lead team practices and games, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment. Communicate with parents and players regarding team updates, schedules, and player performance. Maintain a safe and organized basketball facility, including setting up and breaking down equipment. Stay up-to-date with the latest basketball techniques and strategies through ongoing training and professional development. Minimum Qualifications Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and skills development for children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and motivate them. Patience, empathy, and a positive demeanor when working with children. Experience working with children in a structured sports or coaching setting. Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations. First Aid and CPR certification, if available.
