Cable and Optics - Electrical Engineer 2
Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.

What you’ll achieve
As a member of the Networking HW Engineering team, the Cables & Optics Engineer will be responsible for the verification and qualification of complex copper cables and optical fiber transceiver modules in various systems, primarily in the 10 Gbit/s – 1600 Gbit/s range. This role requires collaboration with xfunctional HW & SW Engineering team, including Platform, Solution, COMMs, Network SW, etc., on all matters related to datacenter and GenAI-focused network compute, storage, and switch connectivity using optical and copper technologies.
You will:
Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
Analyzes equipment and test plan requirements to perform verification; conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
Work with lead engineer or architect to select components based on analysis of specifications, cost, continuity of supply, and reliability.
Reviews original design manufacturer and sub-tier vendor capability to support product development and production.
Ensures the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs, and designs integrate with the rest of product functions including mechanical and software.

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $108,000K - $138,000K.
