Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Outpatient & Emergency Department (Remote)
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Duration: 13+ Weeks Contract (Possible Extension)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: 35 hrs/week
Pay: $38 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Certified Medical Coder for an exciting job in Bronx, NY.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform accurate outpatient and ED medical coding in an acute care setting.
Review and analyze provider documentation to assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of coding guidelines, payer rules, and federal billing regulations.
Utilize EPIC, 3M, and related encoder software to complete coding assignments efficiently.
Research coding issues and provide clarification or training as needed.
Ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of cases.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve documentation or coding queries.
Maintain productivity and quality levels consistent with department expectations.
Certification: CCS required.
Additional acceptable certifications: AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCP.
Experience using EPIC and 3M systems.
Demonstrated expertise in Outpatient and ED coding .
Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and encoder tools.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology.
Ability to research complex coding issues and support coder training.
