Base pay range $350,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is responsible for overseeing and managing the investment activities of the family office, ensuring alignment with the family’s long-term financial objectives, values, and risk tolerance. This role involves setting investment strategy, asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction, and performance monitoring across a diverse set of asset classes, including public markets, private equity, real estate, and alternative investments. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive investment strategy aligned with the family's goals and values. Determine strategic and tactical asset allocation across asset classes. Manage a diversified investment portfolio including public equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and other alternatives. Conduct regular portfolio reviews and rebalance as necessary. Manager & Investment Selection Source, evaluate, and select external investment managers and direct investment opportunities. Conduct due diligence on fund managers and direct investments (including co-investments). Identify, monitor, and manage portfolio and operational risks. Ensure investment activities remain within the family’s risk appetite and investment policy guidelines. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Monitor portfolio performance against benchmarks and KPIs. Prepare and present regular investment reports to family principals and relevant stakeholders. Governance & Compliance Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal investment policies. Support the creation and periodic review of the Investment Policy Statement (IPS). Manage internal investment staff and coordinate with external advisors, consultants, and managers. Build and maintain strong relationships with investment partners and service providers. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CAIA strongly preferred. 7-10 years of investment experience from a buy side environment (private equity, hedge fund, family office, etc.) Strong understanding of asset allocation, portfolio construction, and alternative investments. Demonstrated track record of investment success and prudent risk management. Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills. High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
