About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Product Officer (CPO) to join its executive leadership team. The CPO will be responsible for defining and executing the product vision and strategy across the organization's portfolio of publishing products and services. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of the academic publishing ecosystem, including researcher and librarian needs, open science and open access trends, digital publishing platforms, and the evolving landscape of scholarly communication. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional product management teams, drive innovation in digital products, and ensure strong market alignment to deliver sustainable growth. A key focus will be on seamless integration across business units and enhancing customer experience journeys. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a proven track record of at least 10 years in product leadership roles within scholarly, STM, education technology, or adjacent digital publishing/knowledge services industries. The role requires a strategic and visionary thinker with a customer-centric approach, adept at data-driven decision-making and commercial acumen. The CPO will be expected to champion digital product innovation, including AI/ML, data analytics, and user experience, and to have experience in managing digital learning products for education or academic institutions. Strong leadership skills, the ability to manage global teams, and excellent stakeholder engagement are essential. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of how technology can enhance both research dissemination and educational outcomes, and be capable of driving digital transformation across diverse markets.
