Laboratory Services Operations Manager Overview: Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, the Laboratory Services Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Laboratory Services Department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence within the department. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations of the Laboratory Services Department, ensuring smooth workflow and effective utilization of resources. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various departments to enhance communication and operational effectiveness. Cultivate a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff members. Resolve operational issues and support staff in addressing concerns promptly and effectively. Promote and ensure adherence to quality control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards. Collaborate with leadership in strategic planning, budget evaluation, and development. Oversee staffing schedules to meet operational needs and productivity goals. Lead and participate in departmental projects aimed at process improvement and operational excellence. Act as a liaison between Laboratory Services and other departments to optimize patient care and service delivery. Requirements Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of five years in a fast-paced healthcare or business environment required, with previous leadership experience in a laboratory setting preferred. Experience in process management, LEAN development, budget oversight, and project management is advantageous. Education: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required; Master's degree preferred. License/Certification: Current licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) strongly preferred. Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in regulatory compliance and quality assurance practices.
