Commercial Glass and Glazing Project Manager
Indianapolis area opportunities:

A fast growing Glass and Glazing company based in Indiana is looking for an experienced full time commercial glazing project manager. Candidates must have strong project managing and communication skills. They will be responsible for their projects successfully finishing projects, hitting budgets, and quality control of jobs. Project Manager is responsible for their project schedules, budget, the union glazier’s timely and satisfactory work as well as understanding and adhering to the union contract. Project Manager must have experience with storefront/curtainwall with knowledge of industry leading glass & aluminum manufacturers, glazing procedures & practices. Some Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Ability to read blueprints, schedules, and budgets. Effectively manage and stay on schedules and budgets.
  • Effectively communicate with Team and GC’s to insure business growth and quality NGH expects and delivers.
  • Experience managing up to 2 million in size projects.
  • Attends site meetings, conducts site inspections, Conducts quality control throughout project and collaborates with field team to ensure a safe work environment, high quality, and timely finish to project.
  • Work with Lead Estimator for successful hand-off of project and start date. Ensure the proper setup of project schedule. Check and make sure all materials are scheduled and on time with Lead Estimator.
  • Engage in planning and executing project procedures, interpret specifications, coordinate various phases of construction to prevent delays, and review change orders to ensure additional work is properly completed.
  • Ensures all Union requirements are followed on job sites.
  • Assists Glaziers and Estimator in all needs and the best interest of NGH.
  • Stays informed of most current product, systems knowledge and industry practices.
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as assigned, which may include duties outside the job description, and may also include cross-training in related positions
  • Monitor in house fabrication and outside manufacturing to ensure all materials are produced on time, correct, and address any delays and mistakes.
  • Ensure delivery of materials to site is on time and in safe area.
  • Collaborates with field team in executing projects in accordance with contract terms and conditions, workforce and safety compliance requirements. Ensure a safe and clean work environment at all projects.
  • Ensures up to date, complete and accurate schedules and progress reports
  • Participates in quality control inspections and improvements.
  • Inspect all work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules and quality expected by NGH.
  • Visit jobsites and document observations
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with industry professionals, manufacturers, general contractors, subcontractors and public agencies
  • Assist in manpower projections based on upcoming and current jobs and calendars
  • Create a cohesive, productive, fun, and team emphasized work environment
  • Create an environment of trust and teamwork with office, team, and locations

Some Qualifications but not limited to:  Minimum one to three(1-3) years successful glass/glazing experience performing duties and responsibilities described above for commercial projects preferred.

  • Experience managing projects up to 2 million in size.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and run several projects at various stages simultaneously.
  • Proficient at understanding and translating construction plans, drawings and specifications, and schedules.
  • Understanding of commercial projects.
  • Excellent math, formulation, and configuration skills.
  • Keen attention to detail, organization, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient use of scheduling and project management software.
  • Excellent writing, grammar and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and relationship building skills.
  • Effective ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, advanced time management skills, and manage resources efficiently.
  • Understands field installation methods and how to select correct systems for project or make changes that help the client, execute change orders, and hit a schedule.
  • Professional, courteous and effective disposition for nurturing business development, customer, supplier, team and other business relationships.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and react to changing business needs. Be creative and flexible with each unique project needs.
  • Have knowledge of all systems and products used. To include but not limited to: Curtainwall, storefront, Doors (Storefront, automatic, revolving, balanced, and all glass), door hardware, all-glass entrances, interior glazing systems, exterior glass, interior glass – decorative and specialty
  • College degree in architecture, engineering or construction workeragement preferred
