COMMERCIAL FIELD SUPERINTENDENT

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight & Management:
    Oversee and manage all phases of commercial solar and solar+energy storage projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious completion. Lead project management tasks, including tracking development progress and meeting customer satisfaction goals.
  • Post-Sale Project Execution:
    Manage all post-sale activities, from PTO (Permission to Operate) to customer handover, ensuring a seamless transition to operational status.
  • Project Documentation & Communication:
    Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up to date, including protocols, billing, procurement, and next steps. Act as the primary point of contact for all questions regarding projects under your supervision.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Regularly communicate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to minimize risks, resolve challenges, and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Resource Management:
    Manage both internal and external resources, particularly subcontractors, ensuring that each project component is executed according to plan.
  • Field Operations Coordination:
    Oversee field operations to ensure all projects are completed on schedule. Provide clear and effective communication of project updates, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation:
    Propose creative project development strategies to optimize schedules, minimize permitting risks, and maximize project value.
  • Budget & Schedule Management:
    Oversee project budgets, objectives, and schedules, ensuring milestones are met and that any changes or credits are properly communicated to the Finance Department.
  • Site Evaluations & Coordination:
    Travel to project sites to meet with landowners, assess site conditions, and evaluate project feasibility.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Provide technical support for the installation, repair, and testing of residential and commercial electrical systems.
  • Safety Management:
    Conduct safety training sessions on-site and ensure all safety guidelines are followed throughout the project.
  • Customer Relations & Satisfaction:
    Address customer concerns professionally and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction. Build lasting relationships, driving repeat business and referrals.
  • Sales Team Collaboration:
    Provide technical support to sales teams, ensuring accurate customer information and addressing potential site challenges early in the development process.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Prepare detailed reports for management on project progress, challenges, and outcomes. Maintain detailed communications and records in company systems.
  • Production Data Verification:
    Ensure that production data aligns with system design specifications, validating that the completed installation meets expectations.
  • Code Compliance:
    Ensure that all installations adhere to relevant electrical and fire codes related to the development and construction of solar and battery facilities.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or related field-or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial solar and/or battery energy storage projects.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and construction management.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, energy storage codes, and local building regulations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Ability to walk short distances as necessary
  • Comfortable working at heights, on roofs, and using ladders
  • Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs routinely
  • Ability to bend, stretch, squat, and lift as required for job functions
