THE OPPORTUNITY

Superintendent

Reports to: Director of Construction

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As the Superintendent , you are the lead force driving daily jobsite operations. You are responsible for ensuring all field activity runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard of craftsmanship. You will lead subcontractors, coordinate schedules, enforce site safety, and ensure that project milestones are achieved with precision and professionalism.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, highly accountable leader who thrives in managing people, solving problems on-site, and delivering construction excellence.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Leadership & Jobsite Management

  • Lead daily site operations across multiple trades and phases
  • Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and laborers to maintain production pace
  • Enforce jobsite safety protocols in alignment with OSHA requirements
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsite standards at all times

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager on schedules, materials, and manpower
  • Hold daily huddles and weekly progress meetings with trades
  • Update look-ahead schedules and track daily progress toward key milestones

Quality Control & Inspections

  • Review and enforce quality standards for workmanship, materials, and finish
  • Conduct pre-pour, framing, MEP, and punch inspections
  • Prepare jobsite for inspections by city officials, architects, and clients

Subcontractor & Vendor Oversight

  • Confirm scopes of work and manage sequencing with trades
  • Resolve field issues proactively and escalate to PM when necessary
  • Track deliveries and ensure long-lead materials are staged and verified

Reporting & Documentation

  • Submit daily logs, jobsite photos, and progress updates via Procore
  • Monitor job costs, timecards, and change requests in the field
  • Maintain redline drawings and coordinate with PMs for RFI/submittal updates

Client & Team Communication

  • Maintain professional on-site presence with clients, inspectors, and neighbors
  • Represent Hatcher Construction’s values through respectful, clear communication
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Architects, and Directors

  • Jobsites run safely, cleanly, and on-schedule
  • Subcontractors are productive, aligned, and well-managed
  • Quality workmanship is evident across all phases
  • Inspections pass smoothly with minimal rework
  • Project progress is clearly communicated and documented daily

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of field leadership in commercial or residential construction
  • Experienced managing multiple subcontractors and overlapping scopes
  • Comfortable reading plans and coordinating with office teams
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety, and inspections
  • Proficient in Procore and basic mobile/email tools for reporting
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish a plus

Bonus Qualities

  • OSHA 30 certified
  • Skilled in punch list, handover, and post-project service
  • Familiarity with AIA scheduling, draw schedules, and milestone planning
  • Natural coach and motivator with a builder’s mindset
