Job Title: Dance Instructor Job Family: Wellness
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Code: WN107

Position Summary:

Axel Dance Academy is a dance studio housed inside of the YMCA. Our goal is to create a loving environment for our dancers. We offer both competitive and recreational dance. The position would be Monday evenings in Fall River and weeknights in Swansea. Earn $16-$19/hour based on experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates proper technique and routines for class participation.
  • Strong instructing skills that can help implement a strong program.
  • Experienced and knowledge for dance including the ability to choreograph
  • Strong classroom management
  • Identify and address participant safety concerns

Qualifications:

  • Multi-genre preferred (ballet, jazz, tap, acro, contemporary, pointe) etc.
  • Must enjoy working with children ages 2 and older, beginner through advanced levels.
  • Available to work Monday to Saturday for the 2024-2025 season that runs September to June
Physical Demands:

  • Required to physically perform and communicate exercise routines
  • Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements
