• Utilize specialized equipment to locate and identify underground utilities including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and sewer lines.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to ensure accurate mapping and marking of utility lines. Interpret and analyze blueprints, utility maps, and as-built drawings to locate utilities.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide clear information on utility locations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of utility locations and site conditions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing fieldwork.
• Respond promptly to utility locates request.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in utility locating or related fields are a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in utility locating or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and mapping techniques.
• Proficiency with utility locating equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for communicating with the Project Manager, project team, and client field representative.
• Accurately designate underground utility layouts.
• Complete documentation, which includes record keeping and simple mathematics legibly and accurately.
• Communicate and coordinate with utility company representative.
• Represent and communicate on behalf of WSB when encountering third parties in the field.
• Complete daily job safety analysis forms.
• Inspect assigned equipment to ensure proper working conditions prior to use.
• Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Report incidents to the appropriate personnel and complete incident report as required.
• Monitor work conditions and responsibly use stop work authority.

What You Will Bring:

• Ability to perform physical movements and tractions, commensurate with operating heavy tools and equipment.
• Possess basic computer skills and able to learn and understand new software.
• Ability to operate surveying instruments, GPS, all-terrain vehicles, and other equipment necessary to obtain survey data.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
