We are a female-led, boutique law firm guiding our immigrant community through complex Immigration Law and Family Law matters within DFW and beyond. Our clients have compelling needs and we take pride in helping parents navigate both our Texas family courts and our immigration system to meet their child's needs here in the United States. Are you the clever, detail oriented, honest, and friendly associate attorney of our dreams?

This position is unique in that the majority of the caseload is an intersection of immigration and family law. You will not be required to handle the immigration side of the cases BUT you will need a working knowledge of the processes, in order to provide clients an understanding of where we are in their case. Many of our cases are uncontested and consist largely of SAPCR and divorces with children. We work primarily in Dallas and Tarrant Counties but have clients in Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman, Collin, and outlying counties as well. Spanish-speakers are preferred though not necessary as interpretation services are readily available.

Responsibilities

• Potential New-client consultations
• Direct representation of clients in family court
• Drafting and filing of petitions, motions, briefs, order etc...
• Attend hearings in family courts via zoom or in person, as required
• Attend client meetings, in person, phone, or Zoom, as needed
• Position may supervise legal staff
• Timely entry of case notes, task assignments, and client and court data into virtual case management system
• Manage caseload of 100+ matters

Hybrid Schedule

• Currently, interviews are via Zoom with potential final in-person meeting
• Attorneys work in-office and remotely, based on firm and client needs, and court requirements

Qualifications

• Law degree (JD or LLM) from an ABA-accredited U.S. institution and member in good standing of the Texas state bar
• 1 year + experience providing direct representation in state family court cases
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally in a courtroom setting and in writing
• Approachable and compassionate demeanor
• Poised and confident persona
• Professional presentation
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite
• Working knowledge of macOS, preferred
