Fiber Optics Cable Technician

Apex Systems is hiring for a Fiber Optics Cable Technician with a large government client supporting the Navy & Marine Corps in Norfolk, VA!

Location: On-site at Norfolk Naval Station, VA

Pay Rate: $30.96/hour

Schedule/hours: M-F, 2pm-10:30pm

Requirements:

• Active, DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance
• 1-2 years Fiber Optic Experience
• Experience with Fiber Optic tools

Job Description:

• Operate tools and equipment (including all necessary protective equipment) required to install, repair, and maintain copper and fiber optic cabling, associated media, and related infrastructure
• Experience with Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) standards
• Troubleshooting and repairing cable system infrastructure
• ISP - Responsible for making sure you can access the Internet, routing Internet traffic, resolving domain names, and maintaining the network infrastructure that makes Internet access possible
• OSP - Responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of outside plant infrastructure for telecommunications systems
