Field Laborer to join our team. The right candidate must be a problem-solver, have strong communication skills, and also be willing and ready to learn.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provide general labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a precast installation crew. Work with wood, metal, and concrete materials using a variety of hand and power tools, the Field Laborer reports directly to the Field Foreman and Field Superintendent. Employee will also Operate lifts and learn to weld, grout and patch.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take work direction from installation crew Foreman and Field Superintendent.
- Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to install precast members.
- Uses materials and supplies in an efficient manner.
- Operates equipment in a safe and responsible manner, specifically concrete saws.
- Cleaning and preparing Footings for layout.
- Must learn how to grout and weld.
- Handle rigging from the crane to hook to the precast members.
- Follows company safety procedures and policies.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ Years of Construction or manual labor experience preferred
- OSHA 10 Hour certification (will be provided if necessary)
- General math skills and ability to read tape measure and blueprint.
- General knowledge of construction practices.
- Ability to work from heights (ladders, flatbed trailers, aerial equipment) safely.
- Ability to obtain membership to local laborers union.
- Must be willing to travel and work in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to work with others and always maintain professional conduct.
- Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task.
- Understand and accepts changes that are implemented to become Best in Class.
- Must be willing to travel and work in all types of weather conditions. Ability to travel and be away from home.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
- Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.
- Possession of valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
- Moderate to high exposure to jobsite environment.
- Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related)
- Ability to work outside year-round
