Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst (Journeyman) to join a dynamic team providing critical support in fiscal, budgetary, and procurement matters. In this role, you will assist with troubleshooting financial system issues, offering Comptroller guidance, and helping resolve budgetary and execution concerns. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing financial data and ensuring compliance with government regulations, while actively contributing to improving processes.
What You Will Do:
As a Financial Analyst (Journeyman), your main responsibility will be to provide Tier One financial help desk support to technical offices, assisting with resolving fiscal, budgetary, and procurement issues. You will manage financial transactions, including unmatched disbursements and problem payments, and offer guidance on financial matters. Using the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) financial system, you'll ensure that financial data is accurately reported and compliant with DoD regulations, while helping improve overall financial processes and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Tier One financial help desk support to technical offices on fiscal, budgetary, and procurement issues.
Offer Comptroller guidance and direct personnel to the appropriate Points of Contact (POC) as needed.
Assist in resolving issues related to budget execution, financial systems, and related tasks.
Troubleshoot financial system problems using past experiences and examples.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial and procurement policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis or support, particularly in budgetary and execution tasks.
Proficiency with financial reporting systems, database maintenance, and reporting tools.
Strong expertise with the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) financial system, including experience in financial reporting and data management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels.
Proven ability to anticipate and manage financial challenges.
5+ years of experience in financial services, with a deep understanding of accounting principles and DoD financial policies.
Experience in preparing financial documents in compliance with DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR).
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
