THE POSITION
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Firearms Instructor to lead and facilitate advanced pistol, rifle, and tactical firearms training for a wide range of shooters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in firearms instruction, law enforcement or military training, and a passion for educating and empowering individuals with responsible firearm handling and marksmanship skills.
KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Deliver firearms training courses (e.g., basic handgun, rifle, shotgun, concealed carry, tactical shooting, etc.) to range visitors and private clients.
· Educate participants on firearm safety, proper handling, maintenance, and applicable laws.
· Monitor live-fire sessions to ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
· Evaluate student performance and provide clear, constructive feedback.
· Maintain accurate training records and complete any necessary certifications or documentation.
· Inspect range facilities and equipment before and after classes for safety and functionality.
· Assist customers in selecting appropriate classes or gear when needed.
· Support range operations, including checking in shooters, assisting with rentals, and range maintenance.
· Act as a role model for safe, respectful, and responsible firearm use.
Requirements:In addition to general team member expectations, this role explicitly requires the following:
· High school diploma or equivalent (required); military or law enforcement background preferred.
· Certified Firearms Instructor through a recognized body such as the NRA, USCCA, or POST (preferred).
· Minimum 2–3 years experience teaching or instructing in a firearms-related setting.
· Strong knowledge of state and federal firearm laws and safety standards.
· Excellent communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.
· Ability to manage groups and maintain control in high-stress or live-fire environments.
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
· CPR and First Aid certified (preferred or required based on company policy).
· Comfortable working in outdoor conditions year-round.
