Job Description

Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with an IT services and solutions company that serves the U.S. federal government by modernizing and automating its operations through technology and customer experience strategies. We are seeking seasoned CFO level consultant to support their accounting team. This is a contract role, but very hands on, where you will support and work with the accounting team and the executive leadership. This is a fractional role, expected to be 2 days a week, with a regular need to come to the office to meet with the teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide month-end close oversight and guidance to the accounting team.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Produce clean financial statements and manage general ledger upkeep.
• Oversee tax reporting process.
• Month-end reviews and variance analysis.
• Assess and review the current financial state and processes.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish and implement a financial analysis function.
• Review and monitor KPIs, suggesting improvements if applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background, ideally a director level, strong controller, an operational CFO experience.
• Solid accounting expertise and able to oversee day to day accounting functions.
• Strong systems proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working with senior leadership.
• Extensive experience within the government contracting sector required.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
