Full Charge Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant Job Description

Position Summary:

This role supports the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and performing general accounting functions and payroll . This position will also provide light HR administration support, assisting with basic onboarding tasks and maintaining employee records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, cash balance tracking, and bank deposit downloads.
  2. Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure alignment with all financial accounts.
  3. Perform full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions weekly, including invoice data entry, routing approval, payments, create invoices, and follow-up payment posting and reconciliation.
  4. Generate and submit reports and census data for audits, compliance, and internal projects.
  5. Maintain and coordinate fi ling systems with the patient billing company to ensure accurate financial records.
  6. Process multiple payrolls, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies. Coordinate with department payroll managers, including timesheet verification and submission. Including digital record keeping.
  7. Enter and maintain employee changes and wage garnishments in the payroll system.
  8. Assist with employee benefits enrollments, tracking, and updates.
  9. Support HR and Finance teams with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Attend regular meetings or training seminars, as required.
  2. Maintain compliance with all company policies and practices.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional staff to support shared initiatives and resolve issues.
  4. Provide courteous and professional support to staff inquiries.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education, Experience and Skills

Personal Qualities:

  1. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  2. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling structured data and documentation.
  3. Capable of tracking processes, maintaining records, and leading projects to completion.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  1. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting role required.

Work Experience:

  1. Two years of accounting and administrative support experience required.
  2. Experience in healthcare, physician group, or multi-entity organization preferred.
  3. Familiarity with GAAP and basic financial reporting required.

Equipment:

  1. Comfortable use of office equipment such as computers, copies, and fax machines.

Computer Skills:

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  2. Accurate data entry and efficient keyboarding skills.

Platform Knowledge:

  1. Working knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity or similar).
  2. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or comparable systems).

Salary Description: $65,000 - $80,000
