Job Description

A lovely family residing in Harwich, Massachusetts is seeking a full time live in (or live out if local) Nanny to work Monday through Friday. Harwich is a charming town located on the south side of the Cape peninsula, with an extensive shoreline on Nantucket Sound. The family has three children ages 5, 11 and 16 and is looking for an experienced and responsible individual with a genuine love for children, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. The family is informal and flexible, and always treats anyone who is working in their house as part of the family.

Job Overview:

• Put the absolute safety of children above all else
• Your primary responsibility will be to provide care, supervision, and engagement for the youngest child (age 5, when not in school 8am – 3pm)
• Additional duties include keeping play areas, kids’ bedrooms and common areas such as the kitchen clean. Wash/dry/fold and put away the kid’s laundry. Keep your own room tidy, do your own laundry. We have a housekeeper who launders sheets, towels and keeps the house clean
• Weekly grocery shopping and occasional errands such as mailing packages

Childcare details:

• Playing with, transporting, feeding and bathing the youngest child (age 5)
• Preparing weekly meal plan for the children
• Preparing snacks and meals and cleaning up afterwards for all children
• Drop off/pick up at school and activities for all children
• Drive and accompany playdates and activities for the youngest child. Participate in and supervise activities with the youngest child to keep the child active and entertained

This is a live in Monday to Friday role that is flexible on start and departure time (as well as open to several hours off in the middle of the three longer days). Candidates should be within driving distance and have a place to live Friday through Sunday evenings if they are not local to Harwich. Enjoy long weekends off.

• Pay: $25-$35 an hour commensurate with experience.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Example Hours: Monday 12pm-7pm, Tuesday 7am-8pm, Wednesday 7am-7pm, Thursday 7am-8pm and Friday 7-12pm. Option for hours off in the middle of the day Tuesday through Thursday. Hours flexible for the right candidate and will flex week to week depending on the children’s activities
• Live in Monday to Thursday nights only (or live out if local to Harwich)
• Live in accommodations: private bedroom with bathroom nearby
• Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation, 2-4 sick/personal days, holidays
• Looking for a minimum 1-year commitment, preferably more
  

 

Requirements:

• Must have relevant nanny experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be an excellent driver
• Must have a clean driving record
• Work vehicle car provided
• Provide 3-5 professional references
