Civil Construction Superintendent
Location: Reading, PA
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000/year (based on experience)

Skillforce has partnered with one of the leading demolition and excavation companies in the industry to find a Civil Construction Superintendent! We're looking for a seasoned professional to immediately step into a leadership role on active civil construction projects in the Reading, PA area.

Position Overview

As a Civil Construction Superintendent, you will:

• Lead field operations on heavy civil and underground utility projects
• Supervise crews including foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors
• Serve as the primary point of contact between field teams, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily on-site construction activities
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries
• Manage site grading and underground utility installation
• Utilize laser-guided instruments and GPS-based grading systems
• Conduct regular project progress checks and reports
• Enforce safety protocols and compliance with regulations
• Attend project meetings

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, utilities, concrete, and roadway)
• Proven team management and leadership skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with GPS grading platforms and site layout tools
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be able to commute to or relocate to Reading, PA immediately
