Job Description

Smoky Hill Construction has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator. We’re looking for motivated individuals who take pride in quality work and make safety their top priority. Experience in heavy construction such as water and sewer pipelines or concrete paving is a plus, but we’re also willing to train the right candidate.

Depending on the job site and your place of residence, this position may require travel up to 5 days per week. Travel per diem may apply.

Job Duties Include:

• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, tractors, excavators, scrapers, bulldozers and graders
• Perform labor and other work when not operating equipment
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices
• Work efficiently and collaboratively with team members

Qualifications:

• Must reside in the state of Kansas
• 5+ years of experience operating excavators, loaders, scrapers, bulldozers, or grader-type machinery preferred
• Must meet basic work requirements, including physical and operational duties
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Ability to read and comprehend work-related information and instructions
• Excellent attendance and reliability required
