Housekeeper & Laundry Aide

We are looking for a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide!

Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of houskeeping and of the laundry department as directed by the Houskeeping supervisor to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

Hours: Part Time

Wage: $11.50-$13.00 Wage is based on experience.

Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities:

• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments; document as required by facility policies.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping & laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living or recreational areas.
• Label or mark personal articles of clothing for laundry and prepare linen.
• Collect, sort, wash soiled laundry, linen and garments. Fold, count, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry, linen and garments to residents daily.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and supplies.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms and other work areas.

Experience:

• None required. On-the-job training provided. Students welcome to apply!

Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Posses the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
• Must possess the ability to deal tacfully with personnel, residents, family members and visitors.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
