Human Resources Manager – Long term temp w/ potential to go permanent
Location: Memphis, TN (East Memphis)
Pay: $60,000–$65,000 (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to step in on a contract/temporary basis for a small, professional corporate office in East Memphis. This is an urgent need, with training available alongside the current HR Manager before they go out on leave.
The role offers the opportunity to work with a well-established local company while making an immediate impact on critical HR functions. There is a strong possibility this position could extend long-term or even transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary actions, and compliance matters
• Oversee workers’ compensation claims and unemployment claims
• Handle new hire onboarding, background checks, and licensing verification
• Maintain employee records and benefits administration
• Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed and up to date
• Provide day-to-day HR support to leadership and employees in a small-office environment
What We’re Looking For
• Proven HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized company setting
• Strong understanding of compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices
• Hands-on approach with the ability to handle both strategic and administrative HR responsibilities
• Professional, polished communication style suitable for a corporate office environment
• SHRM or PHR certification is a plus but not required
