Contract to Hire - 1st shift, 5/40
Pay Range:$30.00 - $33.00/Hr.

Requirements: HVAC Utility Plant Operator - US Citizenship
- Our client requires that candidates must have an active/current DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL) to start, OR candidate must have held Secret clearance in the recent past for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
- High school degree or equivalency.
- 2 years HVAC trade school or equivalent certification with at least 5 years experience with Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC)
- Must have EPA CFC Universal certification.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain any required certification.
- Candidate must be able to use hand and power tools including the proficient uses of torches and refrigeration gauges.
- Have and maintain a valid diver license.
- Must be able to record, review and can interpret equipment & systems readings.
- Able to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and controls issues.
- Familiar with all types of hand tools, multi-meters, metal fasteners, valves, pumps & piping with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems and computerized alarm & control systems.
- Good general computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel).
- Excellent oral & written communication skills. Self-motivated, dependable, maintains a positive attitude, and willing to be a responsible & dedicated team Player.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by yourself.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work from a variety of aerial lift platforms including ladders.
- Candidate must be able to lift 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

Job Description:HVAC Utility Plant Operator This position is created for a Utility Plant Operator with HVAC experience.
Responsible for maintaining and the operation of all Utility Plant equipment & systems including HTHW Generators, Centrifugal Chillers, Air Compressors, Cooling Towers, HVAC equipment & all associated auxiliary equipment.
- Installs, services, modifies, rebuilds, and repairs building systems and equipment in an industrial or commercial establishment in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
- Operate computerized site Building Management System / Web Control, respond to alarms & become familiar with site building layouts & systems.
- Perform facility HVAC operations and support functions including brazing/soldering, electronic and pneumatic control calibration, control wiring installation and preventive / predictive maintenance.
- Clean, maintain and troubleshoot large capacity building HVAC systems including roof top equipment, air handlers, exhaust fans, fan coil units, and DX coil units, chiller, cooling towers, steam generators, air handler mixing boxes and other HVAC related equipment.
- Be proficient in the assembly, fabrication, and insulation of duck work.
- Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields - plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) installs, services, modifies, rebuilds, and repairs building systems and equipment in an industrial or commercial establishment in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
- Utilize proper personal protective equipment in the performance of duties.
- And all other facilities maintenance duties assigned.
The candidate will initially be assigned to 1st shift (7:30am-4pm) for approximately 5 months for training purposes and then transfer to a fixed schedule of their assigned shift for continued training and hands-on experience.
Weekends are part of the fixed schedules.
The candidate successfully trained and qualified as a Power Plant Operator, will work either 2nd Shift: 3:30pm-12am OR 3rd Shift: 11:30pm-8:00am and be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shift coverage as needed.
