Thompson Pipe Group is looking for a Laborer in Production. This person will be responsible for performing all functions necessary to produce precast concrete products efficiently and safely under supervision. Work in a team environment to accomplish the required tasks.

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Crane Operator to manage and operate our industrial cranes used in our construction projects. As our crane operator, you are responsible for operating our 80- or 40-ton railway crane to lift and move heavy objects and materials throughout our facility. This role requires a combination of technical skills, physical stamina, and a strong understanding of load capacities.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in operating cranes safely and efficiently, with a strong focus on adhering to all safety regulations and standards while coordinating with ground staff via radio or hand signals to ensure safe handling of loads.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a crane operator, demonstrating strong knowledge of crane operations and safety procedures.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception to accurately position loads and maneuver the crane.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and address any equipment malfunctions or issues.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, lifting plans, and signal communication to execute precise lifting operations.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and follow instructions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess load weights and determine load capacities to ensure safe lifting operations, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, including signalpersons, riggers, and supervisors, to ensure coordinated and safe lifting operations.
  • Safely and efficiently operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy objects, equipment, and materials according to project requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain the proper function of crane controls, ensuring they are responsive and functioning correctly during operations.
  • Keep accurate records of crane usage, maintenance, and inspections, reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors.

A minimum of three years’ experience working as a crane operator, preferably in a construction or industrial setting. Valid crane operator certification from a recognized training organization and additional certifications such as rigging or signaling is preferred, not always required.

Work Hours

  • Monday-Friday (Mandatory OT on some Saturdays based on business needs)
  • 10-to-12-hour shifts
  • (Holidays are off)

Must pass Pre-employment Physical, Respiratory, alcohol/drug testing.
