Title: Instrument Technician

Location: Norfolk, VA

Duration: Direct Hire/Perm

Compensation : $63,800/yr to $103,800/yr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Must haves/Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for an Instrument Technician to join a top utilities company in Norfolk, VA. This person will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, inspecting, testing, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation and control systems within offshore wind farms. This role involves optimizing systems such as sensors, transmitters, and PLCs, while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and regulatory standards like NERC. The technician also contributes to daily reporting through operations logbooks and ensures all work adheres to industry standards. Additionally, understanding the basic electric grid, including transmission and substation operations, and knowledge of NERC compliance, including evidence collection and documentation, is crucial for maintaining regulatory compliance in offshore wind operations.

- minimum 3+ years of experience in mechanical eletrical and instrumentation work

- experience with PLC controls systems

- programming and maintenance

- Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, including knowledge of electrical symbols and formulas
