POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

ALMS is seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscaper to manage and maintain the grounds of our installation. Responsibilities include lawn maintenance, vegetation removal, and debris removal. The role requires maintaining aesthetically pleasing grounds across various areas while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

1. Grounds Maintenance:
   
   • Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and general lawn care to maintain uniform grass height and a neat appearance.
   • Control undesired vegetation and remove debris to ensure a clean environment.
   • Maintain shrubs, hedges, and plant beds to promote plant health and safety.
   • Provide tree maintenance, including pruning, staking, and removal of dead or damaged wood.
   
   
   
2. Irrigation System Maintenance:
   • Operate and maintain irrigation systems for proper water application.
   • Report and repair inoperable irrigation components within 24 hours.
   
   
   
3. Safety and Environmental Compliance:
   • Use equipment approved for sensitive areas and avoid gas-powered tools in environmentally sensitive zones.
   • Follow safety protocols and obtain necessary certifications.
   
   
   
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Maintain grounds to meet COLS standards.
   • Submit soil analysis and fertilizer proposals for approval.
   • Restore any damaged property during operations.
   
   
   
5. Reporting and Scheduling:
   • Identify non-recurring work needs and report to the project manager.
   
   
   
6. Other Duties: As assigned by the manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or related fields.
• Technical knowledge of lawn care and irrigation systems.
• Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; current TS/SCI clearance preferred with ability to obtain SCI.
