We are looking for a full-time, experienced Lead Commercial Solar Installer to oversee all aspects of commercial scale rooftop and ground mount PV installations for the Mid-Atlantic region (D.C., VA, MD and DE). This position is with our multi-family installation team and would require working with our single-family installation team as the need arises.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for all technical and safety aspects of PV installations Assist with designing and engineering of small commercial solar electric systems Review designs for compliance with GRID Alternatives design standards and local and national code compliance Train team leader volunteers in solar PV installation Lead installations of solar PV systems with crews of volunteers and/or job trainees Ensure that all solar installations are installed according to GRID Alternatives safety and quality standards Assist in project management for multi-family/small commercial PV installations Assist in warehouse organization, organization of tools and other construction resources, etc. Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Experience in PV system installation, design, and troubleshooting Experience leading a crew in PV installation Excellent communication skills (ability to work with volunteers and clients, ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively) Flexibility and willingness to embrace change, go the extra mile, and bring ideas and energy to a rapidly growing organization Willingness to work on evenings and weekends Valid Drivers license and clean driving record Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as well as to other GRID offices around the country

Salary commensurate with experience.
