Therapists are trained professionals who help individuals, families, and couples address and overcome various mental health challenges. They provide a range of therapeutic services within their associated geographical region, field, and scope of practice, such as counseling, psychotherapy, and behavior modification techniques. As a Therapist, your primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat clients/patients based on their individual needs. This involves conducting thorough assessments to understand their presenting concerns, gathering relevant background information, rendering a diagnosis, and formulating a treatment plan. Therapists utilize evidence-based interventions and techniques to help clients develop coping strategies, improve their relationships, and enhance their overall well-being. Required credentials include professional licenses in the fields of counseling, social work, and/or marital/family therapy. Key Responsibilities include providing individual, group, family, and/or other practical counseling in a variety of settings; completing intake, screening, and/or comprehensive assessment processes; determining and documenting diagnoses; developing treatment plans; participating in clinical staffing/treatment meetings; meeting department-specific Collaborative Service Goal requirements; working closely with internal departments; documenting all services; assisting clients through transition processes; completing mandatory training; representing the agency professionally; maintaining positive relationships; handling crisis situations; providing clinical supervision; facilitating group and individual therapy sessions; providing training and guidance on clinical issues; providing clinical consultation; and performing other duties as assigned. Education and experience qualifications require at least a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field, licensure as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT, willingness to become licensed in additional states, and comfort with telehealth services. Additional qualifications include expertise in diagnostic criteria for substance use and mental health disorders, knowledge of caseload management and rehabilitation methods, legal requirements, supervisory and training techniques, and strong communication skills.
