The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Company's business or operation. The Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of the maintenance process, from installation and upkeep to inspection and repair, often assuming a hands-on role in one or more stages of the process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for maintaining documentation and scheduling of all preventive maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
- Assigns employees to jobs, instructs them in the proper performance of work, and familiarizes them with company rules and regulations
- Plans and schedules the work of the maintenance department to make maximum utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials
- Well-versed and certified in established Lock-out / Tag-out procedures.
- Well-versed and certified in established Confined Space Procedures
- Arrange for proper maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities under his responsibility
- Inventory of replacement parts
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: - Tools
- Solid understanding of diesel engines, as well as mechanics and engineering in general
- Working knowledge of facilities, machines and equipment
- Must have the ability to document, track, and report on activity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Computer skills, as several diagnostic procedures and precision repairs may be carried out with computers.
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Associate's degree or equivalent in training, education or 5 years of experience as maintenance manager, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education
- Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Regularly required to stand, twist, and walk
- Must be able to use various hand tools or controls
- Must reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
WORKING CONDITIONS: - Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
- Moderate to high exposure to a production environment.
- Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
- Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
