Position: Radiology/Imaging Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Radiology/Imaging Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations (patient flow) and efficiency of the Radiology/Imaging Department.  The Manager is responsible for staffing according to patient needs as well as recruitment processes. The manager must have knowledge of all areas within the Radiology/Imaging Departments. Must utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. The Radiology/Imaging Manager performs examinations according to the currently accepted practices of the ARRT, TMB and Northwest Texas Healthcare System.  The Radiology/Imaging Manager will prepare and oversee the technical processes and training for exams including ensuring exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures are readily available and meet quality standards. These service lines include the CT, FED and IR/ Bi-Plane responsibilities. Can work in a professional manner with Radiologists, Physicians and Mid-level providers ensuring quality safe patient care.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of technical procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist and Staff Phuysicians with tests.
  • Demonstrates skills needed for all positions.
  • Demonstrates good patient care.
  • Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills in supervising staff and students and providing feedback concerning performance.
  • Demonstrates good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Is a professioanl role model for personnel.
  • The Radiology/Imaging Manager will comply with appropriate and approved standards relating to patients, infection control, and environmental issues.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

  • Current ARRT license
  • Current Texas Licensure for Medical Radiology Technician
  • Current BLS
  • 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience in hospital setting preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills required
  • Experience in working with Professional Radiology groups required

  4. Ability to show organization and leadership.

  6. Near-Visual acuity and depth perception to examine exposed films for detail
  7. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  8. Bending and lifting (50-75 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
  9. Electrical and radiant energy hazards are present.
  10. Exposure to infectious organisms, agent, and toxic chemicals.
