Rate of Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Work Schedule: Primarily Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with occasional flexibility as required by the needs of the Health Center; No on-call

Position Summary: This position shall be responsible for managing one of the Community Health Center of the North Country’s (CHCNC) locations servicing St. Lawrence, Franklin, and Jefferson Counties. This position shall support the operational needs of the practices and assist in the implementation of transforming the practices into patient-centered medical care sites. Additional responsibilities include providing oversight, guidance and support of supervisory staff, supervision of staff, assisting in the referral process, prior authorizations, pre-registration, arrival of patients, sliding fee applications and payment plans as well as creating a work environment conducive of positive employee morale, focusing in staff engagement and accountability. This position shall be responsible for meeting quality metrics and revenue metrics and managing cost control.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages, coaches, and oversees staff members at multiple CHCNC sites following established standards and practices.
  • Responsible and accountable for facilitating providers’ work scheduling in direct collaboration with other Supervisor(s) as applicable.
  • Oversees the management of provider schedules with a focus on follow-up to no-shows and canceled appointments.
  • Provides open and clear communication and collaboration with the senior management team, the physicians, other providers, and support staff.
  • Provides direct support to providers as needed throughout the day.
  • Assures that all providers and staff members are adequately trained in using the EMR and monitors compliance. Provides opportunities for training/retraining for all providers and staff members.
  • Ensures that all patient encounters, whether in person, electronically, telephonic, or via other communication links, are achieved in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Adheres to CHCNC or CPANC policies and procedures, protocols, and guidelines and is a resource to providers and staff.
  • Assists in human resource activities for staff development, including job posting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, and continued staff education on all practice workflow processes to ensure compliance with regulations and office performance standards. Initiates and assists in staff disciplinary actions in compliance with CHCNC policies and procedures.
  • Assists in investigations as needed and assists the management team with investigations of patient complaints/incidents. Performs staff education, if needed, in the resolution of events.
  • Effectively controls practice expenses; oversees medical and clerical supply levels, including ordering and monitoring supply cycles to ensure all providers and staff members have the supplies and tools to provide a satisfactory and high-quality patient encounter.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of insurance contractual relationships, including knowledge of provider participation, coding and billing, financial counseling, and other financial processes.
  • Reviews provider production reports periodically (i.e., monthly, quarterly, annually, and ad hoc) for performance standards (productivity, service, patient satisfaction, etc.). Assists in the development and communication of action plans for improvement.
  • Works to establish, educate, maintain, and monitor operations to ensure all regulatory and practice standards are met. Assists in facilitating the ongoing education of all site providers and staff.
  • Participates in ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Assists in the management of the implementation and continued use of the electronic medical record (EMR), including meaningful use.
  • Collaborates with the management team to address daily operational issues and solve problems to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Integrates CHCNC's mission and core values within the sites.
  • Develops plans as necessary to ensure the successful operation of all sites.
  • Responsible for Health Center policies and procedures as assigned, including writing, assuring they remain current, and training staff.
  • Works in collaboration with all other CPNC/CHCNC departments as warranted.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in health care management, business, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of practice management in a healthcare setting; strong human resources management/administrative background, strong knowledge of health center revenue cycle operations, financial systems and analysis, computer systems, and applications required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and knowledge in electronic health record implementation and usage are required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to sit for long periods
  • Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to computer monitor/screen
  • Ability to tolerate extensive use of computer keyboard
