Contracted Medical Transportation Driver

Location: La Crosse, WI

Type: Contract Position

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Contracted Medical Transportation Driver to provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation services for patients to and from medical appointments, facilities, and other health-related locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, excellent driving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Assist patients in and out of vehicles as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle, performing regular inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, demonstrating the highest level of driving safety.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and patient details.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, caregivers, and patients regarding pick-up/drop-off times and any special needs.
- Be courteous and respectful to all patients, demonstrating empathy and understanding to create a positive experience.
- Load and secure medical equipment or personal belongings in the vehicle as necessary.
- Follow protocols to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA.
- Be available for on-call and flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in health care or transportation is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in transportation, preferably in a medical or related field.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR training is desirable.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Familiarity with local routes and geographical area is preferred.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent service.

Working Conditions:

- Contract-based position with flexible hours. 10-hour routes guaranteed.
- Requires frequent driving and the ability to assist patients physically as needed.
- May involve working in varying weather conditions and environments.
