Below are some of the responsibilities the MUMPS Developer may be expected to assume in their position:

• Participate in requirements analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
• Write clean, scalable code using MUMPS programming language.
• Test and deploy applications and systems.
• Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
• Improve existing software.
• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support.
• Research and develop HL7 messages and manage approval process.

The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.

• Must currently reside in the US.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology major (Or equivalent work experience)
• Proven work experience as a MUMPS developer
• Experience with Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) VistA System
• Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
• Familiarity with design/architectural patterns (Model-View-Controller (MVC))
• Familiarity with System Design Documents (SDD) and Interface Control Documents (ICD)
• Develops code independently using the VPE Editor or Cache Studio

Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below are preferred for this job

• Strong understanding of modern software design and development methodologies
• Strong understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management)
• Basic understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test scripting and testing methodologies
• Experience on one or more full release project life cycles
• Able to apply consistently quality and security standards
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients
• Ability to work with Web-development tools for new applications
• Experience writing code using languages such as (and not limited to) COBOL, PL/1, Java, C, C++, VB.Net, Delphi
• Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio)

GeekSI now covers 100 percent employer contribution toward health insurance premiums for employees and 50 percent for dependents.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
