Role Description
We are looking for a person with sharp reporting instincts, outstanding news judgment, an ability to report and write quickly in a fast-moving atmosphere. A curiosity about the community and its people is vital. Writing duties include general assignment writing, feature writing, and meeting coverage. We care about your interests and will shape beats accordingly to play to your interests and strengths.
We work as a team and the person must have the ability to work productively in a team setting.
Your work will appear in newspapers, websites, and social media. Salary based on experience. We offer health benefits, 401(k) and two weeks vacation. Emporia is on the edge of the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills one hour away from major Kansas cities like Kansas City, Wichita and Topeka.
