DRYOUT is a high-growth start-up driven by our mission to rescue things that shouldn't get wet, so that we can help rescue people who struggle with mental health challenges – with particular focus on veterans and children. Our proprietary technology is the only reusable, electricity-free material that provides moisture protection and damage recovery for valuable electronics, firearms, and other hard goods. As the “GORE-TEX of moisture removal”, we partner with brands (“Brand Partners”), distributors, and government organizations worldwide to provide unparalleled moisture-removal solutions for their customers and end-users (such as bags, cases, and pouches).
Position Summary:
The Operations Project Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing our company's operational efficiency, particularly in guiding product development projects from concept to market through our external manufacturing partners. Reporting directly to the COO, this role acts as a central hub for cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless coordination between Business Development, Design, and Supply Chain teams. The Operations Project Manager will be a key driver of project success, process improvement, and organizational readiness for key initiatives, including major industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Business Development Support:
- Serve as the lead Project Manager for all new product development and strategic initiatives originating from the Business Development team.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource allocation (internal and external), and deliverables for each project phase (design discussion, design creation, samples, costing, production, etc.)
- Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Provide regular, detailed status updates to the COO and executive team, maintaining clear communication channels regarding project milestones and potential roadblocks.
- Implement and manage project tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility into the status of each product and project in the pipeline.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration & Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison and facilitator between the Business Development, Design, and Supply Chain teams for all active projects.
- Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving sessions among these departments to ensure alignment, resolve conflicts, and streamline workflows.
- Ensure that design specifications are accurately translated for manufacturing, and that supply chain capabilities align with design and production requirements.
- Drive accountability among internal teams and external manufacturing partners to meet project deliverables and quality standards.
Operational Planning & Strategic Support:
- Assist the COO in the development and implementation of operational strategies that support company growth and efficiency goals.
- Analyze current operational processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement, cost reduction, and increased productivity.
- Play a key role in the planning and preparation for company conventions and trade shows, including logistics, booth management, and coordination of relevant teams and materials.
- Contribute to other departmental tasks and initiatives as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting overall business objectives.
Systems, Processes & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Lead the creation, documentation, and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across various operational functions, particularly those related to product development and outsourced manufacturing.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new systems or tools that enhance operational efficiency, data tracking, and team collaboration.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards throughout all operational processes.
Vendor & Relationship Management:
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to manage relationships with external manufacturing partners, ensuring clear communication of project requirements, deadlines, and quality expectations.
- Monitor the performance of external vendors against agreed-upon metrics and project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Project Management, Business Administration, or a similar field. While not required, we'd love it if you had a bachelor's degree. An MBA or PMP certification would be a huge bonus!
- 7+ years of battle-tested experience and expertise experience in operations management, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or directorial role.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly with complex, multi-stage projects involving cross-functional teams and external partners. Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, from concept to commercialization.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing SOPs and improving operational systems.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana), and Google products (Sheets, Docs, Presentations).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with convention planning or large-scale event logistics is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) experience preferred
