Oracle Solutions Architect

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Solutions Architect to partner with a client on a full-cycle engagement - beginning with a discovery and assessment phase of their current OCI environment, followed by delivery and implementation of recommended improvements. The ideal resource will combine deep technical expertise with strong consultative skills to evaluate, design, and optimize OCI environments for scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.

Phase 1: Discovery & Assessment (Initial Scope)

Conduct a 60 90 minute discovery session and comprehensive review of the client's existing Oracle Cloud environment, focusing on:

• Tenancy and Compartment Design: Evaluate overall organization and structure for scalability and manageability.

1. Networking: Review VCNs, subnets, gateways, routing, and private/public endpoint configurations.

1. Identity & Access Management: Assess policies, groups, federation, and access controls.

1. Database Services: Evaluate Autonomous DB, Exadata Cloud Service, and HA/DR strategies.

1. Security, Logging & Monitoring: Identify gaps in configuration, audit trails, and compliance coverage.

1. Cost Governance & Tagging: Analyze spend patterns and tagging standards to drive optimization.

Deliverables:

• Current state architecture documentation.

1. Findings and recommendations report with prioritized improvement roadmap.

Phase 2: Delivery & Implementation

Following the initial assessment, the architect will lead or support the execution of recommended improvements within the OCI environment, including:

• Designing and implementing optimized tenancy, network, and IAM configurations.

1. Establishing or improving disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) solutions.

1. Enhancing security controls, monitoring, and governance policies.

1. Optimizing database services for performance and reliability.

1. Implementing cost management frameworks and tagging strategies.

1. Providing knowledge transfer and documentation to client teams.

Deliverables:

• Updated OCI architecture diagrams and configuration documentation.

1. Implemented and validated infrastructure changes.

1. Final performance and governance review report.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 7+ years of cloud architecture experience with at least 3 years specific to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

1. Proven track record designing, assessing, and implementing OCI environments across compute, network, IAM, and database domains.

1. Expertise in high availability, disaster recovery, and security frameworks within OCI.

1. Experience with cost governance, tagging, and OCI native monitoring tools.

1. Strong client-facing communication and documentation skills.

1. Experience integrating OCI with on-prem or multi-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred.

Engagement Details:

• Phase 1: Discovery & Assessment (estimated 1 2 weeks).

1. Phase 2: Implementation & Delivery (timeline dependent on findings).

1. Location: Remote with optional onsite sessions as required.

1. Duration: Short-term project engagement with potential for extended advisory or managed services support.
