Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all parts department staff.
  • Develop staff by setting and communicating performance/production expectations, monitoring performance, identifying development needs, coaching and mentoring.
  • Directs and schedules the activities of all parts department staff members.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends staff members to appropriate training schools as needed.
  • Ensures all parts department staff members meet and maintain minimum factory training requirements as set forth our manufactures.
  • Responsible for placing daily orders, supervising stock order procedures, receipting, posting inventory and special orders.
  • Analyzes sales, expenses and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.
  • Works with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs yet balance all parts ordering to ensure the best margins.
  • Ensure orders are processed, check for back-ordered items and customers are notified of order status.
  • Manages Company Loaner Vehicle Program.
  • Holds monthly individual meetings with the parts department staff members.
  • Attends Parts Manager meetings and other management meetings as requested by the President and General Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively manage inventory on a daily basis including lost sales tracking, parts fill ratio and overall parts inventory turn times required.
  • Must utilize effective time management skills and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at one time.
  • Strong computer aptitude, specifically with Company management systems, factory computer systems and Excel required.
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards of service and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Must have the ability to establish productive, cooperative relationships with the public, vendors and all employees of the Company.
  • Travel to other Company locations along with manufacturer training and other relevant training courses required.
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional travel required.
  • A professional appearance and manner consistent with the Company’s culture must be maintained.
