Indigo Sky Group is a mental health staffing agency. We are currently looking for an experienced Peer Support Specialist in the Fayetteville/Cumberland county area. We also welcome PSS who have their own case load/consumers. This is a part time/contract position. The home office is located in various parts of NC. Please note that you will only be required to come in office for onboarding/training purposes if a virtual option is not available. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Lived experience of mental health or substance use recovery
  • Understanding of recovery principles for mental health or addiction challenges
  • Prior experience in a service-oriented field is beneficial
  • Peer Support must be delivered by individuals who:
  • Are Certified Peer Support Specialists in North Carolina
  • Self-identify as having lived experience of mental illness or substance use disorder as defined by federal guidelines
  • Are well established in their recovery and currently stable
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED
  • Are supervised by a Qualified Professional (QP)
  • Cannot be a family member of the individual receiving Peer Support services
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
  • Comfort in interacting with diverse individuals
  • Sound understanding of mental health and/or substance use challenges and treatments
  • Personal qualities: Patience, tolerance, empathy, maturity, and understanding

  • This role focuses on enhancing clients' recovery journey through individualized support and community engagement
  • Provide individualized guidance, coaching, and support
  • Deliver training on personal and community resource utilization
  • Assist in developing formal and informal community supports
  • Support individuals in expanding social networks of family, friends, and significant others
  • Offer encouragement during crises
  • Advocate for individuals to protect their rights and reduce stigma
  • Collaborate with providers, family members, and others involved in clients' recovery plans
  • Participate in agency staff meetings, case conferences, and supervision
  • Maintain established productivity standards
  • Uphold confidentiality policies regarding clinical information and treatment
  • Understand and adhere to client rights policies and procedures
  • Engage in ongoing staff training and development
  • Serve on designated agency committees
  • Maintain professional standards and follow the Code of Ethics and Conduct
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
