Salary: Ranging from $17 to $20

Shift hours between: Monday-Friday 6am - 10pm and Saturday 8am - 2pm. Multiple shift times available.

About the Pharmacy Team

Our pharmacy team is the reason patients keep coming back to Gifthealth. Our pharmacy interns are an essential part of the team. As an intern, you will receive real world experience in a fast paced pharmacy atmosphere. You will have the ability to make an impact in many patients' lives outside of what you may have learned in the classroom. This role is more than just stocking shelves and collecting copays, it is building relationships internally and externally to create a wonderful pharmacy experience.

How youll Help Us Improve Healthcare:

  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assisting in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy
  • Assisting pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns including patient counseling and other health services (i.e. blood pressure, medication therapy management, etc.)
  • Handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
  • Assisting and supporting the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals
  • Maintaining knowledge of Gifthealth asset protection techniques, and filing claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs
  • Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
  • Modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience under guidance of the pharmacy team
  • Learning and championing the pharmacy policy, procedures and customer service necessary to perform as a future pharmacist
  • Maintaining an active educational license, a complete clinical documentation file with hard copy documents (to be stored on site) and active CPR licensure documentation as required by participation in clinical services
  • Compliance with all assigned training and participation in immunization, medication therapy management, health screening and all other current clinical programs

A Few Things About You

  • Enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school and a current, state-specific pharmacy intern license
  • Immunization training certificate (as soon as available and applicable to professional standing in school)
  • Flexible availability and capacity to assist as needs arise (Availability for at least one shift per week required)
  • Timeliness and dependability to complete requirements and attend scheduled shifts
  • Drive to stay current and competent in all pharmacy-related functions
  • Excellent customer service skills, genuine empathy, and professional behavior and appearance
  • Ambition, diligence and ability to commit to the team's goals
