JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the design, engineering, and implementation of process instrumentation and control systems from initial conception through commissioning.
• Responsible for design and engineering that provide the most reliable and cost- effective instrument and control systems.
• Provides consulting services to process engineers in developing process design specifications, develops operating and training manuals for mechanical and process personnel, and participates in training operating personnel.
• Writes purchase and construction specifications and participates in Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Specifies, procures, and configures Distributed Control Systems, and field hardware such as transmitters, control valves, and electronic transmission systems.
• Instrumentation and controls capital projects engineering including front-end-loading, cost estimates, specifications and oversight of detailed design.
• Identifying areas where instrumentation/controls can improve plant operation and profitability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor"s degree in Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical engineering and 5 years experience in refining or chemicals industry as an Instrument engineer OR
• Associate"s degree in instrumentation technology, electronics or a related field and 10 years experience in process instrumentation design and/or maintenance
• 5 years experience in refining or chemicals industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient in use of SAP - PM & PS Modules
• Proficient in project estimating and project engineering skills
• Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Projects
