As the Design System Owner, you will drive the scaling of components, patterns, and guidelines across our products, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and a top-tier mobile experience. This role is ideal for a seasoned design leader passionate about consumer mobile design, design systems, and front-end development. You will collaborate with product designers, engineers, and branding teams to create scalable, intuitive, and high-quality design solutions that enhance the Chime experience. The starting salary for this role ranges from $198,990 to $281,900, with additional benefits including bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The actual salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. Responsibilities Own and develop Chime’s Design System, ensuring effective scaling across platforms. Lead mobile-first design initiatives for iOS and Android. Define, document, and implement design system components, patterns, and best practices in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Embed accessibility and usability standards within the design system. Partner with engineering teams to develop and maintain a robust design-to-code pipeline. Establish governance processes that balance consistency with flexibility. Promote adoption of the design system and mentor teams on its use. Qualifications 7+ years in product design, with a focus on consumer mobile applications. Expertise in design systems, UI libraries, and token-based architecture. Proficiency in Figma, design tokens, and modern design tools. Experience designing native mobile experiences for iOS and Android. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
