Job Title: Remote Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Remote (EIPA Certification Required)
Position Overview: We are looking for a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to work as a 1099 contractor in a fully remote capacity. This role involves providing high-quality interpretation services for students,ensuring clear and accurate communication across different settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote sign language interpretation services in an educational setting.
- Interpret conversations in real-time between Deaf and hearing studentsin various settings, including classrooms, resources rooms, etc.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality in all interpreted communications.
- Adapt interpretation methods and techniques based on the context and needs of the student.
- Stay updated on best practices and industry standards in sign language interpretation.
Requirements:
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher.
- Proven experience in sign language interpretation, preferably in various settings.
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the nuances of American Sign Language (ASL).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to different communication styles.
- Reliable access to a high-speed internet connection and a suitable workspace for remote interpretation.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
